The internet is abuzz with rumors that Alibaba will acquire Sina. There has been a rally in the Sina stock in the US on these rumors. There are naysayers though, saying that any such acquisition, if actually happening, probably wouldn’t happen until after November as Alibaba is too busy now preparing for Single’s Day, 11/11, in China. An Alibaba acquisition of Sina would leave Tencent, Baidu, and Alibaba as the big 3 internet giants in China.
