Now that WeChat is introducing group voice calls it seems like Skype won’t have much space left in China or possible anywhere in the world in the future.
At the moment the service is not available on IOS devices but just on the Android WeChat 6.5 beta testing version.
To try it you just have to follow our instructions.
- First of all you have to press on this link: http://support.weixin.qq.com/cgi-bin/mmsupport-bin/readtemplate?t=page/android_exp__index
- Then you have to download and install it.
- Once you have done it you will find a new button in group chat threads which is called “Group Call”.
- From there it’s easy to add the selected members among your friends to a group call.
The tests made on this new feature show that the quality of the calls is good and that it is very simple and intuitive to use it.
